How will I receive my digital images?
Upon full payment of your session, I will send you an email with a link to your personal picture gallery. You can download your digital images directly to your computer. These images are for social media use only. Please keep in mind that it may take up to 2-3 weeks to receive your pictures.
How do I prepare for my photo session?
Choose a Location: Consider the season and scenery surrounding the location. If children or pets are joining the session, consider choosing a quiet location with little distractions.
Outfit Coordination: Select outfits that complement each other. Aim for a cohesive color palette without being overly matching. Avoid busy patterns that might distract from faces.
Plan for Comfort: Ensure everyone in the session wears comfortable clothing and shoes, especially if the shoot will take place outdoors or involve movement.
Appearance: Schedule haircuts and pet grooming sessions a few days before the shoot. Consider the overall look you want; natural styles often work best.
Bring Essential Items: Pack a bag with essentials such as hairbrushes, makeup for touch-ups, tissues, and water to stay hydrated.
Discuss Expectations: Talk with family members about what to expect. Share ideas on poses or specific shots everyone would like.
Choose the Right Time: Schedule the shoot during a time when everyone is most relaxed. If you have young children, consider their nap and feeding schedules.
Stay Relaxed: Remind everyone to be themselves and enjoy the moment. Candid shots often capture the best feelings.
Communicate with Your Photographer: Share your ideas, preferences, and any concerns you might have with your photographer before the shoot.
Can I bring my pets?
Yes, absolutely! As long as the location permits.
Do you charge travel fees?
Travel fees to your location are generally included in the overall package price. If you are within 1 hour of zip code 07826, no travel fee with be added to the final price. For anything beyond that, an additional fee will apply, which I will discuss with you prior to scheduling your session.
Can I post images on social media?
Absolutely, I love to see my clients’ pictures on social media. If you'd like to give credit for the pictures, you can tag @carliebouvierphotography on Instagram or Carlie Bouvier Photography on Facebook.
What is the best time of day for photos?
The best time of day for photos is early in the morning or late afternoon. I prefer if we have our photo session in the late afternoon, which will give you plenty of time during the day to prepare for our session. Depending on the time of year, photo session start times can vary between 3pm-8pm. Black background portraits can be photographed anytime during the day, as I am not relying so much on the outdoor lighting. We can discuss the best time for your photos upon booking your session. Keep in mind session times are subject to change depending on the weather.
Can I order prints of my digital images?
Prints can be ordered directly through your gallery. Keep in mind once the gallery expires, prints through your gallery will no longer be available. If you would like to order prints in the future, you will have to contact Carlie directly for ordering prints.
How do I pay for my photo session?
I require all of my clients to sign a contract once you have decided to book a session. You can pay via personal check, Venmo, Zelle or cash. I require a $50 deposit when you schedule your photo session. The remaining balance is due at the end of your session. A NJ 6.625% sales tax is included in all session prices, but sales tax will be applied to any additional print orders.
